Special thanks to a volunteer from Armenia Sahak Babayan (who crated this website for our charity event) and Asem Berry who helped to write the basic text.
Foreign medicines have always been the key medical expense for Gift of Life, acquiring over 70% of our funds. Erwinase, Atriance and Adcetris are just a few cancer-killing drugs being purchased for our patients every year.
Statistically Leukaemia, the most common type of child cancer, represents 33% of all cases. At certain point, its most aggressive form – acute lymphoblastic leukaemia – can only be treated with Erwinase.
Whether you volunteer at our events, raise funds through sports challenges or charity bake-offs, take part in Gift of Life charity raffle, there are plenty of ways you can help and make the real difference.
First time in London an active group of internationally acclaimed artists participate in a special exhibition, Art For A Little Brave Heart, which is fundraising money for children with life-threatening illnesses in support of the UK-based Charity Gift of Life in collaboration with its co-founder, a famous Russian actress Dina Korzun.
In March of 2017 an internationally acclaimed award-winning artist Arina Gordienko contacted a famous Russian actress Dina Korzun, founder of the UK-based charity Gift of Life with a charity exhibition proposal. The special charity exhibition from which 100% of the proceeds from art works sale will go towards medical expenses for children suffering from cancer and other life threatening conditions and will benefit children with cancer in Russian hospitals. Dina Korzun supported this initiative and our project begun. Arina Gordienko started working on the project and invited to participate in the charity event well-known artists from around the world, whose works are in private art collections all over the globe and also at established galleries and museums in many countries. Selection of works for the exhibition was very specific about the calibre of the artists; and only the well-known and established artists, who have proven themselves on the international stage, were invited to participate in the exhibition with their finest art works. Many of the participants have volunteered to create new pieces specifically for this event. Some of them have donated to this charity event several artworks.
First of all, the charity aims to help children and young adults up to the age of 25 from Russia and CIS countries suffering from cancer. In many countries often only a small part of medical expenses for cancer and other life threatening illnesses is covered by the state. As a result, approximately two thirds of costs associated with treatments lie on patients and their families. This quite often means that families are struggling financially, and even slipping into poverty, as they simply cannot cover enormous sums of money needed to treat their kids. The UK-based the charity 'Gift of Life' literally gives hope to sick children and their parents, who cannot afford lifesaving treatments. Thanks to continuous support from charity’s friends, people from different works of life and confessions, for whom words like ‘kindness’ and ‘compassion’ are not an empty slogan, the charity constantly saves children’s lives by footing the bill for medical expenses at the world’s most renown clinics. Gift of Life charity is registered under the number 1140638, the address: 2 Putney Hill, London, SW15 6AB.
